Mobile Outreach — Rick Wismer (Director)
YFC Victoria's Mobile Outreach ministry partners with volunteers from local churches to lead weekly ministries for aboriginal youth in the five communities: Esquimalt Nation, Quw’utsun Nation in the Duncan area, Scianew in the East Sooke area and Tsawout and Tseycum Nations on the Saanich Peninsula.
Tailored to Meet Community Needs
We believe going out to meet youth in their own communities is a powerful way to demonstrate the love of Jesus. Our programs focus on youth ages 8–18 and include crafts, games, snacks, sports and a God Talk. Each community has different needs and so each program is tailored to meet the needs of that community. Unless specifically asked to refrain from spiritual lessons, we let the youth know about the love that Jesus has for them each week.
Respecting Local Authorities
We work hard to respect the local authorities in each community and so we only run programs in communities who have invited us. Furthermore, we only go ahead with our weekly ministry if our community sponsor is present so that we remain accountable to that community.
See the Mobile Outreach website for the ministry schedule and details.
